For more than twenty years, we have represented Pemex-one of the world's largest enterprises and a decentralized agency of the Mexican government.
Currently we represent Pemexin a suit related to the international trafficking in stolen hydrocarbons, a matter in which the damages are in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The defendants include some very large members of the petroleum industry.
In the course of the last 20 years, we have also been involved in a number of other precedent setting cases for Pemex, including:
- The dismissal of a $1.8 billion corruption lawsuit against Pemex on the basis of sovereign immunity.
- The first case to establish a state-owned enterprise's sovereign immunity from civil discovery in cases in which it is not a party.
- A $100 million corruption lawsuit as plaintiff.
